The Experience

The Ron Jon Cocoa Beach Half Marathon, first run in 2011 and now in its 15th year, draws participants from around 26 states. This race offers a unique coastal experience, with runners potentially spotting fishing boats and cruise ships offshore. The course winds along A1A before a memorable finish on I Dream of Jeannie Lane.

Participants can expect a mostly flat, paved road course with minimal elevation change. While the race is primarily on roads, there have been sections on the beach, which can present a softer running surface. The event aims to provide a festive atmosphere with musical acts along the route and a distinctive finisher's medal.

With a median field size of approximately 1186 finishers, the Cocoa Beach Half Marathon is a growing event. While runner feedback highlights the quality of the shirt and medal, some have noted organizational challenges. The race typically takes place in November, with average temperatures ranging from 64-77°F.
