The Day of the Dog race series, now in its tenth year, invites participants to celebrate International Dog Day by running, walking, or jogging their chosen distance anytime in August or September. This event offers a variety of distances, from a 1-mile fun run to a full marathon, making it accessible for all ages and fitness levels.
Participants can complete their race from any location, with the option to run with their canine companions. The $25 registration fee includes a commemorative medal and bib, with at least 15% of each entry donated to charity. Over the past 13 years, the organizers have contributed over $1 million to various charitable organizations worldwide.

To help celebrate, we are hosting our tenth annual Day of the Dog: Run, Walk or Jog 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2! We invite you to complete your chosen distance anytime in August or September for, or with, your favorite four legged friend. Races can be completed anytime in August or September 2026 even better if it's August 26th! 1 mile, 5k, 10k, 13.1, and 26.2 virtual races are available — you choose which distance you want to complete Great for all ages Registration Fee: $25 (includes a medal, bib, and donation to charity) Medals and bibs will begin shipping out mid-May 2026 Cost: The price is $25 and that includes your medal, bib and at least 15% of every entry will be donated to charity. *Charity Disclaimer: We are not a nonprofit organization — we simply believe in supporting great causes whenever we can. A portion of your race registration is donated to a charitable organization. Over the last 13 years we have donated more than $1 million to charities around the world. Due to certain legal restrictions, we're unable to publicly list specific charities associated with each event. However, you're welcome to email us at support@virtualrunevent.com for more information on which charity this race benefits and to get a list of our charity donations throughout the years. What is a Virtual Race? A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or ev en at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Running and walking on your own, or with friends! And your medal will be shipped directly to you. Complete a virtual 5Ks, 10K, half marathon and more! Each race benefits a difference charity For each of our virtual races, we choose a charity to donate a portion of each registration to. We’ve already raised more than $1,00,000 for charities from races here at Virtual Run Events! Our goal is to continue to help different charities around the world.
