The Experience
The Boise Marathon, held on the longest summer day, offers a scenic journey through Idaho's capital. Runners can expect a course that winds through picturesque canyons, lush trees, charming riverside neighborhoods, and some of the country's most beautiful parks.
This USATF-certified event is designed for speed, with minimal elevation change and a net drop that favors fast times. While the weather in Boise in June can be variable, the long daylight hours provide ample opportunity to complete the race, with sunrise at 6:04 a.m. and sunset well past 9:30 p.m.
Participants receive a coveted race shirt, quality swag, and post-race refreshments. All finishers are awarded a medal, making it a rewarding experience for the ~650 runners who typically participate, drawing athletes from around 31 states.
Race-provided description
Saturday, November 14, 2026(Subject to Change)
All runners will receive a race shirt and race medal. Please note courses utilize the Boise Greenbelt system. Should we run the Greenbelt, the river can be unpredictable. Systems and entities that govern the local Greenbelt are constantly dealing with these challenges. Typical issues are created due to sidewalk construction, sinkholes, flooding, etc. During the run, you may encounter wildlife that may cause a delay in your progress and/or change in your planned route. Or you may cause your own delay to stop and listen to the amazing sounds this course creates.
