Gobbler Grind Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

The Gobbler Grind, now in its 33rd year, is a historic road race held on the Sunday before Thanksgiving in Overland Park, Kansas. This USATF-certified event offers marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances, drawing participants from approximately 29 states and fostering a connection between the Kansas and Missouri running communities.

The course is described as a modified out-and-back with some looped sections, featuring a mix of paved asphalt roads and park trails. While generally considered flat with some rolling hills, specific sections within Corporate Woods can be challenging. Runners can expect a USATF-certified course that is also a 50 State Marathon Club Certified Race and a Boston Qualifying Marathon.

With a median field size of around 556 finishers and a growing trend, the Gobbler Grind boasts enthusiastic volunteers and a friendly, welcoming vibe. Approximately 21% of participants are repeat runners, highlighting its loyalty, and the event provides a long-sleeved t-shirt as part of its giveaway.
