The Iron Horse Half Marathon, now in its 16th year, celebrates the central Kentucky running community in Midway. This event, which also includes 12k and 5k distances, aims to make race day special for participants.
Runners can expect a technical running shirt with custom Iron Horse artwork and a unique finisher medal. The race also offers personalized bibs, age group awards, and free downloads of all race photos. With a median field size of around 610 finishers, the event draws participants from approximately 19 states, and about 20% of runners return each year.
Packet pickup is available in the days leading up to the race at John's Run/Walk Shop, with options for packet shipping for out-of-town participants. An official shake-out run is also scheduled the day before the event.
