The Experience

Now in its 23rd edition, the Baltimore Running Festival draws roughly 4,300 half-marathon finishers from 49 states each fall. About a fifth of those runners return year after year—a testament to the event’s loyal following and its reliably crisp race-day weather, with temperatures in the 50s and low 60s.

The half-marathon course rolls through the heart of Baltimore on closed roads, a flat and fast layout that invites PR attempts. The route winds past neighborhoods and city landmarks before delivering runners to the iconic Inner Harbor for a finish that feels both grand and celebratory. Spectators line much of the course, and the energy builds as the miles tick by.

All participants receive a quality Under Armour shirt, and the festival’s multiple distances—from 5K to full marathon—make it a destination weekend for runners of every stripe. The post-race scene at the Inner Harbor is a proper party, with waterfront views and a strong sense of accomplishment in the air.
