The Experience
The Ocean City Running Festival half marathon is a fast, flat coastal route that draws nearly a thousand finishers from 30 states each year, with a loyal 14% returning to run the boardwalk again. The course is USATF certified and virtually flat, making it a PR-friendly choice for runners seeking a scenic seaside half. Expect mid-40s to mid-50s temperatures, light winds, and a smooth paved surface from start to finish.
The route showcases the best of Maryland's coast, starting along the Ocean City Boardwalk and heading toward Assateague State Park. With a slight net drop and well-marked course, it's ideal for first-timers and experienced racers alike. The finish line brings a proper celebration — a party that reflects the Corrigan Sports hallmark of good hospitality and community spirit.
Beyond the race itself, runners receive the 'Half Marathon Premium Size' swag and enjoy post-race festivities that make the Ocean City Running Festival a true destination event. Whether you're chasing a personal best or just soaking in the ocean air, this half marathon delivers a memorable day on the shore.
