The Experience
The Great Miami Riverway Half, first run in 2014 and now in its 11th edition, traces a scenic path along the river and through historic Ohio towns. Runners begin at the Miami County Courthouse in Troy, heading through local streets and into Duke Park before joining the bike path.
This out-and-back course guides participants north along the Great Miami Riverway, passing the picturesque Eldean Covered Bridge. The route continues into Piqua before turning back towards Troy. With approximately 480 finishers in recent years, drawing participants from about 12 states, the race has seen steady growth. A dedicated ~32% of runners return annually, testament to its charm and community feel.
Finishers are celebrated with a commemorative medal, and awards are given to top overall and age-group finishers. A special recognition awaits those who have completed the race every year since its inception, including a unique pint glass for completing 157.2 miles. The event offers a choice of tech shirts and aims to provide a rewarding experience for its participants.
