The Experience

The Oklahoma Fallen Heroes Half Marathon is a poignant tribute held annually in Oklahoma City, honoring nineteen fallen heroes and one sister from its ranks who made the ultimate sacrifice since September 11, 2001. The event, now in its 16th year, takes place on the OKC river trail, designed to accommodate a larger participant base.

Each of the twenty fallen heroes is recognized individually. Banners featuring their photos and brief biographies are displayed at the start, each mile marker, and the finish line, creating a deeply moving experience for all involved. The course itself is a loop along the river trail, offering a scenic and relatively flat path for runners.

With a median field size of approximately 137 finishers, this race offers an intimate atmosphere. While not a sanctioned event, its focus on remembrance and community support makes it a meaningful run for participants looking to honor those who have served.

Race-provided description

We will be hosting the 16th annual “Half Marathon”, 10k, and 5k run/walk in recognition and remembrance of the nineteen brothers and one sister from its ranks who made the ultimate sacrifice since September 11, 2001.  The race course is located in Oklahoma City, OK, at the OKC river trail, to facilitate a larger participant population.  The twenty fallen heroes will be honored individually with recognition beginning at the Starting Line, then at each mile marker along the 13.1-mile course, and finally at the finish line.  A banner will be placed at each of the 15 points highlighting one of the warriors with a photo and a brief bio detailing their lives and sacrifices. *This is not a sanctioned race.*
