The Experience
The Resolution Relay: BYOB in Boring, Oregon, invites runners to kick off the new year with a unique team half-marathon relay. Teams of 1 to 4 can participate, with a special format for teams of three where one runner tackles two legs.
The course is a flat, road-based loop, promising a swift experience for participants. The event, first run in 2019 and now in its 7th year, typically sees runners from around 3 states, with a steady field size. While the repeat-runner loyalty is low, the focus is on setting new year's resolutions and having fun.
Beyond the running, the race features a lively atmosphere with a costume contest for all relay groups, encouraging creative team spirit. Participants are encouraged to share their festive costumes on Instagram for judging. A long-sleeve tech shirt is provided for those registering by early December.
Race-provided description
This race allows you to set your goals and Resolutions for 2027 and have fun doing it! This race is a Half Marathon Relay done in teams of 4, 3, 2, or 1. With the team of 3, one member will run two legs and the other two members will run one leg. First place awards to male/female/mixed relay teams in each group and male, female and non-binary individual. Costume contest for each relay group ( 4 person, 3 person, 2 person and individual). YOU MUST SUBMIT A PICTURE OF YOUR TEAM IN FULL COSTUME TO @resolutionrelaybyob on Instagram THE MORNING OF THE RACE FOR JUDGING! Register before 12/11/2026 for guaranteed shirt and size preference as registrations after 12/11/26 will not receive a shirt. Registration closes at midnight 12/31/2026.
