The Jamestown Half Marathon offers a unique journey through the very birthplace of America. This 13.1-mile race winds through the historic Jamestown Settlement, circles Jamestown Island, and traverses the scenic Greensprings and Virginia Capital Trail. The course is celebrated for its flat profile, making it an appealing option for those chasing a personal best.

First run in 2023 and now in its third edition, the race has steadily grown, attracting approximately 514 finishers recently from around 17 states. A dedicated ~22% of participants return each year, drawn by the historical significance and the promise of a fast, scenic run. The event includes a 5K and a 1-mile race, catering to a wider range of participants.

Runners can expect a festive atmosphere with DJ music and post-race refreshments, including complimentary beer for those 21 and older. The event also offers a custom T-shirt and a custom finisher medal, adding to the commemorative experience of running where American history began.

The  Jamestown Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile Course commemorating the beginning of America. The race starts and finishes in the vicinity of the Amblers House (Vermillion Building) 2205 Jamestown Rd 23185.  The Jamestown Half Marathon follows a uniquely American course, winding through Jamestown Settlement, circling Jamestown Island, and traversing the Greensprings and Virginia Capital Trail. This flat, scenic course is where America began. Your every footfall will echo with the steps of those that came before and give you the chance to make your own history.   Perks: All runners and walkers receive a beautiful custom race T (guaranteed race T in the requested size if registered by Oct 8th), custom finisher medal ( participants must finish to receive), Swag Bag, After race refreshments and complimentary beer ( must be 21 or older to receive).  Dj and music for entertainment.  . The Jamestown Half Marathon run is a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix and a Hampton Roads Super Grand Prix race. The Jamestown Half Marathon Ruck is for those looking to take their fitness to the next level. Awards are given to: Half Marathon: the Top 3 male and female overall, top male and female Masters, Top male and female Grand Masters, the top three male and female in the following age groups; 15 and under, 16-19, and then 5 yr age groups starting at 20-24 through 80 and over.  Top male and female in the Ruck Division. 5K: Top three male and female overall, top male and female Masters, Top male and female Grand Masters, top three male and female in the following age groups; 8 and under, 9-10, 11-12,13 -15, 16-19, and then 5 yr age groups starting at 20-24 through 80 and over.  5K Competitive Walk: Top three male and female Overall. Discovery Mile: Non timed fun event. Your participation benefits Literacy for Life, one of the area’s most established and impactful nonprofit agencies. Since 1975, Literacy for Life has empowered adults by building foundational skills for success in life and work. At the Jamestown Half Marathon, as you strive toward your personal running goals, you will be supporting others who are striving toward educational and work goals that will benefit themselves, their families, and our community.
