The Experience
The Autumn & Ales half-marathon, now in its 7th year, invites runners to experience a scenic course along the marshes of Scarborough, Maine. This event, typically held in early September, offers a refreshing escape with typical race-day temperatures in the high 60s to low 70s.
Runners can choose from a 5K, 10K, or the half-marathon, all culminating in a celebration featuring local ales. The course is largely flat, making it a potentially fast day for participants. The race has seen a growing field, with recent editions attracting around 119 finishers from approximately 17 states, highlighting its appeal as a destination event.
Beyond the run, Autumn & Ales emphasizes community and charity, with options for team registration and fundraising for organizations like Maine Needs. While the first 100 participants receive a t-shirt, additional merchandise is available for purchase, adding to the event's appeal as a well-rounded race day experience.
