The Experience

The Bangor Marathon Running Festival, organized by the Maine Endurance Sports Alliance, upholds a tradition of endurance sports in Maine's Queen City. This USATF-sanctioned event, first run in 2026, offers a half marathon that is Boston certified, presenting a prime opportunity for personal bests.

The course is designed for speed, with a minimal net drop and a slight separation between start and finish, making it a fast, certified route. Runners will experience the streets of Bangor, with the half marathon turning around on outer Broadway. The event emphasizes inclusivity, with no time limit and support for personal hydration needs via a bottle drop system.

With a median field size of around 260 finishers and participants traveling from approximately 25 states, the Bangor Marathon aims to be a welcoming destination. The festival includes a vendor area at the finish line at Bangor Waterfront Park, complemented by nearby parking and lodging options, making it accessible for families and participants alike.
