The Experience
The Mini Donut Half Marathon, now in its 11th year, winds runners alongside the mighty Mississippi River, offering spectacular views. This point-to-point course utilizes the Great River State Trail for a significant portion, providing a unique rails-to-trails experience.
The race serves a dual purpose: a challenging half marathon and a 5K Honor Walk/Run, both dedicated to raising money for suicide prevention, awareness, and education. Finishers are rewarded with a medal, race swag, and the namesake mini donuts, with additional prizes for age division winners. The event has seen a growing field, with recent editions attracting around 4,500 finishers from approximately nine states, and a loyal 30% repeat-runner rate.
